Pedestrian remains in critical condition after being struck by pickup truck in Warren County

HACKETTSTOWN, NJ (Warren County) – A pedestrian remains in critical condition after he was struck by a pickup truck in Hackettstown on Thursday afternoon.

The crash happened on Sept. 21, at a 4:47 p.m., on the access road near Wendy’s, located at 219 Mountain Ave, police said.

Through a preliminary police investigation it was determined that a Chevy pickup, operated by a 59-year-old man from Oxford Township was making a left turn onto the access road from the Wendy’s parking lot when the pickup struck a 67-year-old man from Wildwood, FL who was crossing the road, police said.

The pedestrian suffered serious injuries and was flown to Morristown Medical Center, where he remains in critical condition, police said Monday morning.

The driver of the pickup was not injured, police said.

The crash remains under investigation. Anyone who may have witnessed this crash, is asked to contact the Hackettstown Police Department at 908-852-3300.

Assisting at the scene was the Hackettstown First Aid and Rescue Squad, the Independence Township First Aid Squad and Saint Clare’s Paramedics.
