Pedestrian struck and killed crossing Route 31 in Hunterdon County

HAMPTON BOROUGH, NJ (Hunterdon County) – According to the New Jersey Sate Police, state troopers are investigating a fatality where a pedestrian was struck and killed Friday evening.

The crash occurred at 7:26 p.m. on Route 31 southbound at milepost 38.4 in Hampton Borough, New Jersey State Police spokesperson Sergeant Philip Curry said.

A preliminary police investigation revealed that Tara Temby, 46, of Flemington, was crossing Route 31 when she was struck by a Saturn which was traveling southbound, Curry said.

Temby sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene, Curry said.

The crash remains under investigation, Curry said.
