UPDATE: Person in custody after hours-long barricade situation in Warren County

HARMONY TOWNSHIP, NJ (Warren County) – A barricaded person prompted a heavy police presence in Harmony Township Friday morning.

New Jersey State Police responded to a residence on Ridge Road to assist New Jersey State Parole with a warrant arrest around 9:39 a.m., according to New Jersey State Police Sergeant Lawrence Peele said.

The suspect was barricaded in a shed on the property and refused to come out. New Jersey State Police Negotiators were on the scene, Peele said.

The suspect was taken into custody at around 3:00 p.m. by NJ State Parole and transported to Newton Medical Center for evaluation, Peele said.

There were no injuries reported, Peele said.

No further information was released.
