PHOTOS: Despite cold, Hackettstown St. Patrick’s parade draws thousands

HACKETTSTOWN, NJ (Warren County) — Thousands of people dressed in green braved cold temps for the 13th annual St. Patrick’s parade in Hackettstown.

Spectators lined Grand Avenue, Main Street, and Mountain Ave Saturday for the St. Patrick’s parade as dancers, bagpipers and other marchers made their way through downtown Hackettstown.

The parade kicked off at 3:30 p.m. with Grand Marshal Mr. Joseph “Joe” Barnes from Hacketstown, Ireland, leading the numerous participants.

There was a special pet costume contest sponsored by Doggie Styleash and a float contest.

The parade was sponsored by John Johnson Auto Group, Bright Smiles 4 Kids, Mars Wrigley, Atlantic Health System/Hackettstown Medical Center, Stuber Insurance, WRNJ, The House of the Good Shepherd, QuickChek and Wawa.

Jay Edwards

Born and raised in Northwest NJ, Jay has a degree in Communications and has had a life-long interest in local radio and various styles of music. Jay has held numerous jobs over the years such as stunt car driver, bartender, voice-over artist, traffic reporter (award winning), NY Yankee maintenance crewmember and peanut farm worker. His hobbies include mountain climbing, snowmobiling, cooking, performing stand-up comedy and he is an avid squirrel watcher. Jay has been a guest on America’s Morning Headquarters,program on The Weather Channel, and was interviewed by Sam Champion.
