Pilot injured in plane crash near Hunterdon County airport

ALEXANDRIA TOWNSHIP, NJ (Hunterdon County) – A pilot was injured in a plane crash near a Hunterdon County airport Thursday morning.

The single-engine Cessna 150 crashed near Sky Manor Airport, located at 48 Sky Manor Road, in Alexandria Township shortly after taking off around 12:00 p.m., according to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

Only the pilot was on board and suffered non-life-threatening injuries, according to the Quakertown Fire Company.

The pilot was then transported to Hunterdon Medical Center, authorities said.

The aircraft is registered to Laura Seth of New Providence, NJ, according to FAA records.

There was a small fuel leak at the crash site which required the response of the Hunterdon County Health Department, Hunterdon County HazMat Team and the Hunterdon County Office of Emergency Management.

 The FAA is leading the investigation.
