MONTVILLE TOWNSHIP, NJ (Morris County) – Two adults, two juveniles were taken into custody following a chase in a stolen car in Montville Township, according to Montville Township Police Chief Andrew Caggiano.
On July 9, at 9:22 a.m., the Montville Township Police Department was notified that the Lincoln Park Police were pursuing a stolen black BMW 750 on Route 202 and Montville police officers then assisted Lincoln Park in the pursuit, Caggiano said.
The stolen vehicle entered onto Route 287 north and became disabled on the highway. The occupants of the stolen vehicle fled with officers pursuing on foot, Caggiano said.
Officers searched the area for the occupants over the course of several hours and four of the five occupants were located, Caggiano said.
There were no weapons recovered, Caggiano said.
Diana Graham, 21, Nathan Holmes, 18, and two 16-year-olds all from Newark were each charged with third-degree conspiracy to receive stolen property (stolen vehicle), third-degree receiving stolen property, fourth-degree resisting arrest, fourth-degree unlawful taking of a means of conveyance.
The juveniles were turned over to their parents. Graham and Holmes were lodged in the Morris County Jail.
The Montville Township Police Department was assisted by the Lincoln Park Police, Fairfield Police, Pequannock Police, Morris County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit, the New Jersey State Police K-9 Unit, Auto Theft Task Force and the Aviation Unit.
