Police investigate armed robbery at Rockaway Twp. home

ROCKAWAY TOWNSHIP, NJ (Morris County) – The Rockaway Township Police Department is investigating an alleged armed robbery that occurred on Friday morning at a residence on Mount Hope Road, according to Rockaway Township Police Chief Martin McParland.

The victims reported that shortly after 1:00 a.m. three suspects, who were armed, entered the residence through an unlocked rear door while the residents were in their kitchen, McParland said.

The victims further reported that cash was stolen from one of their wallets. The suspects then fled through the rear door and left the scene, McParland said.

“No injuries were reported and it is not believed that there exists any danger to the public at this time,” McParland said.

Assisting with the investigation is the Morris County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Unit.
