
Police investigating 2 burglaries in Morris County
JEFFERSON TOWNSHIP, NJ (Morris County) – Police in Jefferson Township are investigating after two burglaries were reported over the past few days.
On Tuesday, Feb. 21, at around 5:16 a.m., police responded to Buccieri’s Gems and Jewelry, located at 5669 Berkshire Valley Road, in the Oak Ridge section of the township for a reported burglary to the business, police said.
Officers observed damage to the front doors of the business along with further damage to the interior. An undisclosed amount of items were stolen from the business during the burglary, police said.
Then on Friday, Feb. 24, at around 5:56 a.m., police responded to Black Bear Fitness, located at 681 Route 15 South, in the Lake Hopatcong section of the township for a report of a burglary to a motor vehicle, police said.
Upon arrival, officers observed a broken window to a vehicle which was parked in the parking lot of the Fitness Center. Several items were reported missing from the vehicle, police said.
The Jefferson Twp. Police Dept. is investigating both of these incidents with the assistance from the Morris County Sheriff’s Dept., Morris County Prosecutor’s Office, and other surrounding law enforcement agencies.
