Police: Long Valley man arrested, accused of repeatedly striking another in head with object

WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, NJ (Morris County) – A Long Valley man was arrested and is accused of repeatedly striking another in head with object in Washington Township.

On Jan. 28, officers responded to a residence on Old Farmers Road for an assault in progress, police said.

Upon arriving the officers located the victim who had sustained severe lacerations to his head after being struck repeatedly with an object. The victim was transported to a local hospital, police said.

Officers arrested a 27-year-old Long Valley man, whose name was not released, at the scene and charged him with aggravated assault and possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes. He was then lodged in the Morris County Correctional Facility, police said.
