Police: Man choked, assaulted girlfriend in Mansfield Township

MANSFIELD TOWNSHIP, NJ (Warren County) – Mansfield Township police arrested a Morris County man after he allegedly choked and assaulted his girlfriend during a domestic dispute.

On July 17, at 1:29 p.m., township officers responded to Mansfield Village on the report of a physical domestic dispute and the man was reportedly leaving the scene, police said.

When police arrived, it was determined that the boyfriend of the victim had knocked her to the ground, choked her and struck her head on the floor causing visible injuries, police said.

Another responding officer located the 37-year-old Flanders man, whose name was not released, walking in the complex and took him into custody, police said.

He was charged with simple assault and was released pending a court appearance, police said.
