Police: Pair stole thousands in merchandise from Ulta store in Roxbury Township

ROXBURY TOWNSHIP, NJ (Morris County) – A man and a woman stole thousands of dollars worth of merchandise from Ulta Beauty store in Roxbury Township, according to police.

On Nov. 10, at around 8:20 pm, officers responded to the Ulta on a report of a shoplifting in progress, police said.

The suspects reportedly left in a vehicle and shortly after an officer located the vehicle on Route 10 and conducted a traffic stop, police said.

A search of the vehicle located approximately $4,000 in stolen perfumes from Ulta and approximately $35,000 in additional perfumes, shoes, and clothing suspected to have been stolen from nearby retail stores, police said.

Lasha Kurtanidze, 27, Sayreville, and Diana Murzatayeva, 36, Brooklyn, NY were arrested and charged with third-degree shoplifting, third-degree receiving stolen property, and third-degree conspiracy.

“I want to commend the officers for working quickly together to track down the vehicle before it left Roxbury and for protecting the retail stores in town from another loss. We will continue to make retail theft a high priority in Roxbury to create a secure and safer environment for everyone,” Roxbury Township Police Chief Adone said.
