RARITAN TOWNSHIP, NJ (Hunterdon County) – The Raritan Police Department is searching for four suspects who attempted to steal an ATM early Monday morning.
On January 11, at 2:27 a.m., police responded to the Chase Bank, located at 318 Route 31, to investigate an attempted theft of an ATM machine, police said.
When the officers arrived, they found an unoccupied pickup truck, which had been reported stolen, in the drive-through lane parked next to the ATM machine, police said.
Surveillance video showed that four individuals had fled the area on foot before police arrived, police said.
A New Jersey State Police helicopter and multiple officers from surrounding towns assisted in a search for the individuals but the suspects were not found, police said.
“This investigation is ongoing, and some information is being withheld so as not to compromise the investigation,” police said.
