Police seize 1,613 wax folds of heroin, 47 bags of cocaine inside Hackettstown home, 7 charged

HACKETTSTOWN, NJ (Warren County) – A five-week long investigation into the alleged distribution of drugs in the Hackettstown area has led to the seizure of 1,613 wax folds of heroin and 47 small bags of cocaine from a Hackettstown home, authorities said.

On Thursday, March 4, the Hackettstown Police Department, Hackettstown’s K9 Edo, New Jersey State Police, Mansfield Twp. Police Department, Pohatcong Twp. Police Department, Washington Twp Police, Warren County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotics Task Force and the Warren County’s Tactical Response Team executed a search warrant at 14 Laurie Terrace in Hackettstown, authorities said.

The search warrant yielded 1,613 wax folds of suspected heroin and 47 small bags of suspected cocaine, authorities said.

Five individuals, who live in the residence, were charged with the following:

  • Maximilian Mueller, 25, was charged with one count of first-degree possession with intent to distribute heroin, one count of second-degree possession with intent to distribute cocaine, one count of second-degree conspiracy to distribute CDS, two counts of third-degree distribution of heroin, and two counts of third-degree possession with intent to distribute heroin. He was held at the Warren County Correctional Center pending a hearing on the State’s detention motion.
  • Heather Hadgkiss, 32, was charged with one count of first-degree possession with Intent to distribute heroin, one count of second-degree possession with Intent to distribute cocaine, one count of second-degree conspiracy to distribute CDS, two counts of third-degree distribution of heroin, two counts of third-degree possession with intent to distribute heroin, one count of third-degree possession of methadone, and one count of fourth-degree tampering with physical evidence. She was held at the Warren County Correctional Center pending a hearing on the State’s detention motion.
  • Michael Carinci, 33, was charged with one count of third-degree possession of cocaine and released.
  • David Durham, 27, was charged with one count of third-degree possession of heroin, and possession of a hypodermic needle. He was released to the custody of the Morris County Sheriff’s Office on outstanding charges in that jurisdiction.
  • Alec Baniel, 26, was charged with disorderly persons offense maintaining a nuisance.

Also, Raymond and Maria Baniel of Long Valley, the home owners of 14 Laurie Terrace, were charged with disorderly persons offense maintaining a nuisance.

A first-degree offense carries up to twenty (20) years New Jersey State Prison.  Second-degree offenses carry a maximum of 10 years New Jersey State Prison, third-degree offenses carry a maximum of five years New Jersey State Prison, fourth-degree offenses carry a maximum of eighteen months New Jersey State Prison and disorderly person’s offenses carry a maximum of 180 days Warren County Correctional Center.
