
Police seize drugs, $12K while executing a search warrant in Mount Olive Township
MOUNT OLIVE TOWNSHIP, NJ (Morris County) – A 40-year-old Budd Lake man was arrested after police seized drugs and cash from a Mount Olive Township apartment.
On Feb. 9, the Mount Olive Police Investigations Division were preparing to execute a search warrant on an apartment in Hensyn Village, when officers observed the person of the search warrant leave the apartment in a vehicle, police said.
An officer stopped the vehicle and came in contact with Keith Harrington who was advised that the Mount Olive Police Investigations Division was outside his apartment and they had a search warrant for his residence. He was then transported back to his apartment and was present during the search, police said.
During the search of the apartment, Detectives located approximately 1 ounce of cocaine, marijuana, drug paraphernalia commonly used for distribution of narcotics, along with $12,000 in US Currency which was believed to be derived from illegal narcotics distribution, police said.
Harrington was arrested and charged with possession with Intent to distribute over half ounce of cocaine, possession of cocaine, money laundering, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was lodged at Morris County Correctional Facility pending a court appearance.
The $12,000 in US currency is pending forfeiture proceedings, police said.
