Police seize nearly a pound of pot during traffic stop in Netcong

NETCONG BOROUGH, NJ (Morris County) – Netcong Police seized nearly a pound of marijuana, and $2,994.00 in cash during a traffic stop in Netcong Sunday morning.

Donald Larubbio 68, of Bushkill, Pa was charged with possession of 404 grams of marijuana, and possession with the intent to distribute of 404 grams of Marijuana.

At around 12:22 a.m., an officer observed Larubbio’s vehicle stopped in the middle of Route 183 and Route 46. After Larubbio’s vehicle did not move and was obstructing traffic, officers pulled him over, police said.

While officers were speaking with Larubbio, the officers allegedly detected a smell of raw marijuana coming from the inside of the vehicle, police said.

After a consensual search of the vehicle, officers found 101 (4ounce) metal tin containers of suspected marijuana in a cardboard box and $2994.00 in cash, police said.

Larubbio was later released pending a court appearance.

Stanhope Police assisted at the scene.
