Police: Stolen car with 3 juveniles inside leads police on chase through Warren County

INDEPENDENCE TOWNSHIP, NJ (Warren County) – Independence police say a stolen vehicle with three juveniles inside led police on a chase last week.

On Sept. 30, police stopped a vehicle on Barkers Mill Road for speeding. As officers attempted to make contact with the driver, the vehicle fled the scene, police said.

Officers attempted to stop the vehicle and were then notified that the vehicle was stolen out of Jersey City. A pursuit of the vehicle led officers on County Route 517 onto Interstate 80 west and eventually ending in Hardwick township after the vehicle became disabled, police said.

With the assistance from the New Jersey State Police and Blairstown Police three 15-year-old occupants were arrest, police said.

The two passengers were released to their parents. The driver was charged with eluding, receiving stolen property and multiple traffic violations. The driver was transported to the Morris County Juvenile Detention Center.
