Police: Tennessee man caught with handgun, armor-piercing bullets, high-capacity magazines inside parked car in Hanover Twp

HANOVER TOWNSHIP, NJ (Morris County) – A Tennessee man was caught with a handgun, armor-piercing bullets, and high-capacity magazines after police found him asleep inside his parked car in Hanover Township, police said.

On Sept. 25, a township officer located Matthew Green, 27, of Knoxville asleep inside his vehicle in the parking lot of the Bee Meadow Park, police said.

During conversations, the officer allegedly observed in plain sight a handgun and several high-capacity magazines inside Green’s vehicle, police said.

Green was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of a weapon, two counts of prohibited weapons and devices (armor piercing bullets and large capacity magazines), and a township ordinance for being in the park after it was closed. He was released pending a court appearance, police said.
