Police warning residents in Tewksbury Township after raccoon attack

TEWKSBURY TOWNSHIP, NJ (Hunterdon County) – An individual was reportedly attacked by a raccoon Thursday in Tewksbury Township, according to police.

A resident of Water Street, in the area of Potter Lane, reported that they were attacked by a raccoon on Jan. 5, police said.

“The animal was not captured, so it can only be presumed to have been rabid,” police said.

Police urge residents to use caution around all wild animals and report sick or injured animals to the police by calling 908-439-2503.
