Police: Warren County man arrested on drug, assault charges after crash, foot chase in Mount Olive Twp.

MOUNT OLIVE TOWNSHIP, NJ (Morris County) – A Warren County man has been arrested on a slew of charges following a crash and foot chase in Mount Olive Township, police said.

On July 8, at around 4:18 p.m., officers responded in a motor vehicle crash with injuries at the intersection of Route 206 and Flanders Netcong Road in the Flanders section of Mount Olive Township.

The driver, Christopher Shoup, 41, of Hope Township, who allegedly caused the crash, left the scene on foot and did not stop for the officers. He was then caught and arrested, police said.

During the course of the investigation, Shoup was determined to be allegedly under the influence. His vehicle was searched and officers located cash, cocaine, and ketamine, police said.

Shoup was later charged with possession with intent to distribute cocaine, possession with intent to distribute ketamine, two counts of possession of CDS schedule I-IV, money laundering, assault by auto, three counts aggravated assault on an officer with bodily fluids, under the influence of CDS, DWI, reckless driving, operation of mv while in possession of narcotics, improper passing, failure to maintain lane, failure to observe traffic control device, leaving the scene of an accident, failure to report accident, uninsured, unlicensed, failure to possess a drivers license, and failure to possess an insurance card.

Shoup was then lodged in the Morris County Correctional Facility pending a court appearance, polcie siad.
