POLICE: Woman arrested after she’s found in stolen rental car with oxycodone inside

BYRAM TOWNSHIP, NJ (Sussex County) – A Pennsylvania woman is facing charges after she was allegedly found with a stolen rental car and oxycodone, according to police.

On July 26, Byram police were notified by a rental car agency that one of their vehicles, which was previously reported stolen, was tracking via GPS to the location of McDonald’s on Route 206, police said.

Officers responded and located the vehicle along with the driver, who was identified as Alexis R. Soto, 28, of Blakeslee, police said.

Soto was arrested and during the incident, a K-9 Unit from the Sussex County Sheriff’s Office alerted that there may be controlled dangerous substances in the vehicle. A subsequent search of the vehicle produced a quantity of oxycodone hydrochloride, police said.

During this time, it was discovered that Soto had two active extraditable warrants out of Pennsylvania, police said.

Soto was charged with third-degree theft of a motor vehicle, third-degree possession of oxycodone hydrochloride, fourth-degree possession of more than 4 doses of a prescription legend drug, possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle, driving while suspended, and unlicensed driver.

Soto was then lodged in the Morris County Correctional Facility pending a court appearance.
