Police: Woman charged with driving under influence of drugs following Hackettstown crash
HACKETTSTOWN, NJ (Warren County) – A Pennsylvania woman is facing several charges including operating under the influence of drugs after police said she crashed her car into two parked vehicles and a street sign on Monday afternoon.
On June 12, at around 12:02 p.m., police responded to a reported hit-and-run crash on the 100 block of Franklin St. Upon arrival of officers, the hit-and-run vehicle was located stopped on Route 517, police said.
According to a witness, a 2016 Toyota, driven by Anastasia M. Wallis, 22, of Henryville, was travelling west on Franklin St when she struck two parked cars. The vehicle continued and didn’t stop at the stop sign at the intersection of Franklin St and Route 517 and then struck a street sign on the southbound side of Route 517 before coming to a stop on the northbound side, police said.
Through a police investigation, it was determined that Wallis was allegedly under the influence of a controlled dangerous substance, police said.
No injuries were reported, police said.
Wallis was charged with operating a vehicle while under the influence of a controlled dangerous substance, DWI, leaving the scene of an accident, failure to report an accident, and careless driving. She was released pending a court appearance, police said.
