How many New Jerseyans scored big Powerball prizes on this billion-dollar run?

NEW JERSEY – Now that the incredible $1 billion Powerball jackpot has been hit, the New Jersey Lottery is showing off the many winners we’ve had over this jackpot run.

The Powerball jackpot has been rolling since April 22 until it was finally hit on July 19. In that time, New Jersey players have won over $16 million, including three new millionaires and 46 players taking home five and six-figure prizes of their own.

Here’s how the New Jersey Lottery did:

Players

  • Over 1.6 million individual New Jersey tickets won prizes on this run, awarding over $16 million in prizes. Three tickets were sold worth $1,000,000 each in Bergen, Essex, and Hunterdon counties. 46 prizes worth $50,000-$250,000 were grabbed across the state, with winning locations found in 16 of our 21 counties.

Retailers

  • Our retailer network, through commission on sales, earned over $4 million. Each of these retailers is important to us and serves as the public face of the Lottery, and we are proud to offer our products for sale through them.

New Jersey

  • With estimated sales of $85 million, the estimated contribution that we are able to provide is over $34 million from this jackpot run alone. This contribution will help protect the retirement benefits of those who serve our communities, including New Jersey’s teachers, police officers, firefighters, and other public employees.
