QuickChek honored for innovations in foodservice

Comfort, Value, Coffee and Convenience --- a Winning Menu

NEW JERSEY  – What’s new on the menu? Fresh, unique, and national recognition!

Murphy USA/QuickChek has won the Gold Medal as the “2024 Foodservice Innovator to Watch” in Convenience Store News’ 13th annual awards program recognizing top retailers.

“We are thrilled to receive this award. We have made a concerted effort to lean into innovation across food and beverage, and will continue to do so. For us, innovation extends beyond menu items, it also means continually looking for ways to improve the customer experience,” said Dan Haskell, Vice President for Food & Beverage for Murphy USA/QuickChek. “We have a passionate team that is proud to deliver what our customers want throughout the day, seven days a week. From breakfast all day to delicious, custom subs with the freshest ingredients to our award-winning coffee. Our focus on quality, freshness, and value is part of what sets QuickChek apart.

Among many highlights of 2023, QuickChek became the Official Sub of the New York Giants. Now serving up a rotating, winning lineup of new and hearty subs prepared on freshly baked bread, and inspired by the local New Jersey-New York metro market that QuickChek serves.

“We offer both made-to-order and grab-and-go meals and snacks, with thoughtful recipes to satisfy cravings throughout the day, and all at terrific value for our customers. Our latest innovations hit across our food categories – in subs/sandwiches, soup, warm bowls, breakfast, bakery, snacks and more,” said Haskell.

In 2023, QuickChek also drove innovation in its beverage program. Building on success from Red Bull Infusions, QuickChek teamed up with PRIME Energy on an exclusive, limited-time-offer zero-sugar frozen energy drink to offer health-conscious consumers with active lifestyles a refreshing, customized, on-the-go beverage. “This was a major success for us – generating buzz and delighting our customers with something unique during the summer months. PRIME was a great partner,” said Haskell.

Recognized on CSP’s “20 Great Coffee Programs for 2023,” QuickChek continued to innovate across its award-winning coffee program, whether through limited time offers and new blends or through QCafê, its made-to-order beverage program.

“We’re consistently looking for ways to keep our entire beverage program new and unique for our customers,” said Haskell.

The current menu features “better for you” options to kick-off the new year such as Peanut Butter Banana Protein Smoothie (with Reese’s®!) or the Tropical Green Machine Smoothie, packed with pineapple, apple, cucumber, spinach, and carrots.

Customers can also take advantage of QuickChek’s great value in breakfast like the 2 for $5 mix-and-match breakfast favorites including English Muffin Breakfast Sandwiches, Breakfast Empanadas, and Loaded Jack Breakfast Burritos from 4 a.m.-11 a.m. daily. Additional made-to-order breakfast items are available all day.

Winter favorites include Cupid Shakes with sweet strawberry and Ghirardelli® chocolate blended with ice cream, chocolate chips and topped with red whip and a chocolate drizzle; and Red Velvet Shakes made with sweet Swiss chocolate and red velvet cookie crumbles blended with ice cream and topped with red whip and extra red velvet cookie crumbles.

“We continue to strive to redefine fresh convenience and this award is a testament to the tremendous work, creativity, and passion coming from our Food & Beverage team across Murphy USA/QuickChek, and the collaboration with our marketing team/partners who help us show our offers in a way that strikes a chord with our customers,” said Haskell. “We are growing and looking for talent to join us on this journey.”
