Rep. Kean votes to mandate fiscal transparency in Washington D.C.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Yesterday, Rep. Tom Kean, Jr. (NJ-07) Wednesday voted in favor of the Reduce Exacerbated Inflation Negatively Impacting the Nation (REIN IN) Inflation Act.

This bill would require the Executive Branch to publish the inflationary impact of executive actions on the Office of Management and Budget’s (OMB) website and submit a report to Congress.

“Reckless government spending is what hyper charged now record-high inflation, and the pressure on families and small businesses has not eased one bit.  This legislation is about mandating fiscal transparency as the path to beating back inflation includes having honest and transparent assessment of how Washington spends Americans’ hard-earned tax dollars.  More inflationary spending would pour gasoline on an already raging fire. Today, Congress is demanding accountability to help put this fire out,” Kean said.
