Round Valley Recreation Area closed to swimming due to poor water quality

CLINTON TOWNSHIP, NJ (Hunterdon County) – Round Valley Recreation Area, located in Hunterdon County, is closed to swimming until further notice due to poor water quality, according to the New Jersey National Park Service.

The exact cause of what led to the poor water quality was not released.

The 1,288 acre Round Valley Recreation Area in includes a swimming area, picnic facilities and wilderness campsites.

The Round Valley Reservoir covers 2,350 acres and is more than 180 feet deep. It has a water capacity of 55 billion gallons.
