
Route 46 eastbound U-turn ramp to be closed at Reservoir Road next week in Washington Twp, Morris County
WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, NJ (Morris County) – New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) officials Monday afternoon announced the Route 46 eastbound U-turn ramp to Route 46 westbound at Reservoir Road, that was scheduled to be closed and detoured for pavement work starting this morning in Washington Township has been rescheduled to begin next Monday morning.
Beginning at 7:00 a.m., Monday, June 15 until 3:00 p.m., Monday, June 22, NJDOT’s contractor Crisdel Group, will close the Route 46 eastbound ramp to Route 46 westbound at Reservoir Road for concrete pavement repair.
Route 46 eastbound ramp to Route 46 westbound detour:
• Motorists on Route 46 eastbound wanting to make a U-turn onto Route 46
westbound near Reservoir Road will be directed to continue on Route 46 eastbound
• Take Route 46 eastbound to Drakestown Road
• Take the left exit at Drakestown Road to make a U-turn onto Route 46 westbound
The $8 million dollar state-funded project will extend the pavement life, improve safety and
enhance ride quality for motorists. In addition to milling and paving, the project will make
drainage improvements and ADA-upgrades to sidewalks and intersections. The project is
expected to be complete by fall 2020.
