Section of Old Mine Road to be closed for repair

HARDWICK TOWNSHIP, NJ (Warren County) – A section of Old Mine Road will be closed starting Monday for road maintenance, according to officials with the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area.

Old Mine Road South between Worthington State Forest and Millbrook will be closed, weather permitting, from Monday, March 16 through Wednesday, March 18 from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., officials said.

The work will include setting sand bags along the side of the road to try and stop water from running into the “big hole” and then cold patching the hole.

This section of Old Mine Road is normally scheduled to be closed from Jan. 2 to April 15 unless there are extended periods of fair weather and no snow or ice on the road surface but due to the mild weather, the road has been open for much of the winter.
