Senators Menendez, Booker announce $8.3M to support public housing across New Jersey

NEW JERSEY – U.S. Senators Bob Menendez and Cory Booker (both D-N.J.) Friday announced a combined total $8,328,385 in federal funding from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to provide public housing authorities (PHAs) with funding to enable more families to obtain stable housing with the Housing Choice Voucher program.

“Many families across New Jersey struggle to make ends meet and find, keep, and maintain a healthy home.” Menendez said. “We must keep investing in our federal housing programs so that every New Jerseyan has a safe place to call home and raise a family.”

“All New Jersey families deserve a decent, affordable place to live,” Booker said. “These grants are crucial for New Jersey’s public housing authorities to best serve the people who rely on them for safe and stable housing.”

Jay Edwards

Born and raised in Northwest NJ, Jay has a degree in Communications and has had a life-long interest in local radio and various styles of music.
