ShopRite announces opening of Sussex County store

ShopRite of Sussex to Host Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on Wednesday, Oct. 25

SUSSEX BOROUGH, NJ (Sussex County) – ShopRite announced today the grand opening celebration for its newest state-of-the-art, full-service supermarket, the ShopRite of Sussex at 1 Wiebel Plaza in Sussex Borough, will be on Wednesday, Oct. 25.

To introduce shoppers to the store, a ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place at 10:00 a.m. with RoNetco Supermarkets, Inc. Co-President & C.O.O. Dominick J. Romano and Co-President & C.F.O. David Romano joining the fun, as well as RoNetco supervisors, merchandisers, managers and ShopRite of Sussex associates.

Prior to the ribbon cutting, the Wallkill Valley High School Marching Band will perform and local American Legion Unit 213 will conduct a flag raising ceremony. Shoppers can also enjoy demos throughout the store, promotional items and giveaways, live music, a photo booth, face painter and balloon artist from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The ShopRite of Sussex is owned by RoNetco Supermarkets, Inc., a family-owned company with nearly a century in the grocery business and eight ShopRite stores in northwestern New Jersey.

The new ShopRite will offer customers a one-stop shop experience with a wide selection of groceries, including ShopRite’s award-winning Bowl & Basket, Wholesome Pantry and Paperbird Own Brands, locally sourced foods and a variety of fresh-prepared and restaurant-style meals. The store will employ over 250 full- and part-time associates.

With an emphasis on reducing its eco-footprint, the new ShopRite of Sussex features energy-efficient refrigeration and lighting, with LED lighting throughout the store and its parking lot.

 Featured Departments Include:

  • True Value Hardware

The supermarket is a unique one-stop-shop, with the first of its kind hardware selection in a ShopRite store. The True Value Hardware department will have everything customers need for DIY and home improvement projects.

  • Fresh, Walk-In Seafood Market

Uniquely designed as a temperature-controlled, in-store market, the Seafood Market offers customers a wide variety of fresh seafood delivered daily. Seafood specialists at the counter can help with selection and recipe ideas, and steam orders for free while customer’s shop.

  • Full-Service Meat Department

ShopRite’s Meat Department features fresh daily ground beef, a variety of organic, natural selections and grass-fed offerings, ready-to-cook signature items and simply sourced products such as Certified Angus Beef. Certified Journeyman Butchers can also custom cut meat for customers.

  • Fresh-to-Table Prepared Foods and Deli Department

Shoppers can also enjoy an assortment of prepared foods and grab-and-go items including made-to-order sandwiches, freshly prepared take-home entrees and sushi.

 The ShopRite of Sussex will be open seven days a week, from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Sundays.
