Single-lane travel on I-78 westbound after last NJ exit during overnight hours this week

WARREN COUNTY, NJ – An overnight single-lane travel pattern, two of three lanes closed, is scheduled to be implemented on I-78 westbound after the last New Jersey exit (Routes 22 and 173/Phillipsburg) this week, according to the Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission.

I-78 westbound motorists should expect the travel restriction to be in effect 10:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. until Friday, Aug. 4, the commission said.

The single-lane pattern is needed to allow for repairs of deteriorated asphalt joints on the 4.2-mile long section of I-78 the Commission owns and maintains on the New Jersey side of the I-78 Toll Bridge, the commission said.

“Travel impacts — if any — should be minor.  Motorists are urged to reduce speed and exercise caution when traveling through active work zones,” the commission said.
