Smash-and-grab car burglary under investigation in Morris County

WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, NJ (Morris County) – Police are investigating a smash-and-grab car burglary that occurred while the car was parked at a Washington Township park.

The car burglary occurred Monday evening at Palmer Park, located on Bartley Road, police said.

While this investigation is ongoing, police ask residents to be diligent in taking all of your valuables, specifically purses, laptops and key fobs out of your vehicles at all times, police said.

“These types of smash-and-grab burglaries have become very common in New Jersey and more specifically in Morris County. They are crimes of opportunity when valuables are seen in a vehicle,” police said.
