Somerset County doctor accused of sexually assaulting patient

FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP, NJ (Somerset County) – A doctor has been charged and arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a patient at his Franklin Township office, according to Somerset County Prosecutor Michael H. Robertson.

Dr. Chike J. Aguh, 64, of  Belle Mead was charged with second-degree sexual assault and fourth-degree sexual contact. He was lodged in the Somerset County Jail pending a detention hearing, Robertson said.

On January 12, the victim reported to Franklin Township Police that she was sexually assaulted by Dr. Aguh while attending a medical appointment within his practice in Franklin Township, Robertson said.

The victim was interviewed by detectives from the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Sex Crimes Unit and Franklin Township Police Department and as a result of the investigation, Dr. Aguh was arrested and charged on January 13 at the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office without incident, Robertson said.
