Spooky huge crowd turns out for Hackettstown’s Halloween Downtown event (PHOTOS)

HACKETTSTOWN, NJ (Warren County) – Thousands of costumed residents came out to the 10th annual Hackettstown Halloween Downtown event Saturday afternoon.

The event started with a parade down West Moore Street and concluded at the Main Street Gazebo where trick-or-treaters were able to get candy from Mars Wrigley, treats from Atlantic Health System/Hackettstown Medical Center, Wawa, WRNJ Radio, and pumpkins from Donaldson Farms.

The Hackettstown Fire Department, and Hackettstown First Aid and Rescue Squad had vehicles on display.

The trick-or-treaters then were able to visit businesses along Main Street who were handing out candy. A Trunk-or-Treat was also held in the rear parking lot of Trinity United Methodist Church.

Here is a list of the Best Halloween Costume winners:

    • Infant to 3-years-old: Andy and Ashton, 3, of Hackettstown dressed as “Rubber Ducks in a Bathtub”

    • 4-years-old to 6-years-old: Sophia, 6, of Washington dressed as a “Dust Fairy”

    • 7-years-old to 10-years-old: Olivia, 10, of Sparta Township dressed as a “Tornado”

    • Family: Legemaate Family of Independence Township dressed as “Finding Nemo”

    • Pet: “Captain Hook, Peter Pan, Tinker Bell, and Wendy” of Andover

The event was sponsored by the Hackettstown Police Department and co-sponsored by Mars Wrigley, Atlantic Health System/Hackettstown Medical Center, Hackettstown Business Improvement District, Centenary University, Wawa, Donaldson Farms, and WRNJ Radio.
