UPDATE: State police continue to search for Parsippany man who disappeared below water in Lake Hopatcong

JEFFERSON TOWNSHIP, NJ (Morris County) – State police continue to search for a man who a witness observed going under the water and never resurfacing Saturday morning, according to New Jersey State Police spokesperson Sgt. Lawrence Peele.

The incident happened at around 10:51 a.m. in the Henderson Cove section of Lake Hopatcong, Peele said.

The search was called off Saturday and Sunday night and will resume Monday morning, Peele said.

New Jersey State Police aviation unit, marine unit and divers are assisting with the search.
