State Police seek public’s help in I-78 shooting investigation in Warren County

GREENWICH TOWNSHIP, NJ (Warren County) -New Jersey State Police are seeking the public’s help with a shooting that occurred on Interstate 78 in Greenwich Township Tuesday morning.

State Police responded at 5:57 a.m. to the Exit 6 off ramp on Interstate 78 for the report of a shooting. When troopers arrived, the female victim was conscious and alert inside her vehicle, state police said.

She sustained three gunshot wounds, which were to her head, hand and chest. She was treated at the scene before being taken to an area hospital where she was last listed in stable condition,state police said.

Detectives believe that the shooting may have been the result of an incident that occurred between the victim and the unknown suspect motorist on Interstate 78 east between Exit 75 (Morgan Hill Road) in Easton, PA and Exit 6 in New Jersey, state police said.

Detectives also believe that a white male wearing dark clothing was at the scene in Greenwich Township prior to fleeing in a dark-colored sedan, state police said.
