Subcontractor accused of stealing garage doors from Sussex County home

BYRAM TOWNSHIP, NJ (Sussex County) – A subcontractor is accused of stealing garage doors from a home in Byram Township.

On Jan. 10, at 5:31 p.m., police responded to a residence on Ranger Trail for a report of stolen garage doors. When the officers arrived, they observed that the victim’s garage doors were uninstalled and removed from the home, police said.

A further investigation revealed that the sub-contractor for the ongoing construction work being performed on the residence was in dispute with the main contractor that was hired to perform the work, police said.

As a result of this dispute, the subcontractor, who was identified as Vincent L. Sciroppo, 46, of Newton, uninstalled the garage doors and removed them from the property, police said.

Sciroppo was charged with burglary and theft. He was then released pending a court appearance, police said.
