READINGTON TOWNSHIP, NJ (Hunterdon County) – A Hunterdon County man is facing several charges including DWI after police say he crashed into a stone wall and a fish pond Wednesday night in Readington Township.
Thomas C. Jones, 63, of Lebanon was charged with DWI, reckless driving, unsafe lane change, driving while suspended, hindering, and assault by auto.
The single vehicle crash happened on July 3 at 8:08 p.m. near the intersection of Route 22 East and Potterstown Road, police said.
Officers arrived to find that a Pontiac, which was driven by Jones, had crashed into a stone wall and a fish pond, police said.
Officers allegedly detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage and suspected that Jones was under the influence. Jones was treated at the scene for minor injuries and then arrested, police said.
A 72-year-old female passenger was treated for her injuries and taken to Morristown Medical Center, police said.
