Sussex County man pleads guilty to possession of a controlled dangerous substance

NEWTON, NJ (Sussex County) – An Sussex County man has entered a guilty plea to possession of a controlled dangerous substance, according to Sussex County Prosecutor Francis Koch.

Shamarr Soto, 25, of Vernon Township pled guilty to third-degree possession of a controlled dangerous substance before the Honorable Michael C. Gaus, J.S.C. at the Sussex County Virtual Courtroom in Newton on February 1, Koch said.

According to Koch, Soto admitted to being in possession of a controlled dangerous substance. He is scheduled to be sentenced on February 18.

Soto was represented by Shaun Russell, Esq., and the State was represented by Assistant Prosecutor Nikoletta Agouras.
