Sussex County man sentenced on possession of child pornography charge

NEWTON, NJ – A Sussex County man has been sentenced on a possession of child pornography charge, according to Acting Sussex County Prosecutor Annmarie Taggart.

Mynor Acte Caal, 23, of Newton was sentenced on April 5 before the Honorable Michael C. Gaus, J.S.C. at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton, Taggart said.

Acte Caal was sentenced to three years New Jersey State Prison suspended with Parole Supervision for life. In addition to his prison sentence, he must also forfeit all electronics seized, submit a DNA sample, abide by internet restrictions and pay $875 in fines and fees, Taggart said.

He pled guilty on June 29, 2022 to third-degree possession of child pornography and in pleading guilty, he admitted to possessing less than 1,000 images of child pornography via the internet, Taggart siad.

Acte Caal was represented by Bruce C. Farrier, Esq., and the State was represented by Special Deputy Attorney General and Acting Supervising Assistant Prosecutor Brent M. Rafuse.
