Sussex County reports 45 new COVID-19 cases; 1 additional death

SUSSEX COUNTY, NJ – Sussex County officials on Tuesday, September 28 are reporting 45 new COVID-19 cases and 1 additional death.

The total number of COVID-19 cases in Sussex County is at 16,575* and total deaths is at 320:

  • Andover Borough-63 and 0 deaths
  • Andover Township-855 and 128 deaths
  • Branchville Borough-78 and 0 deaths
  • Byram Township-953 and 8 deaths
  • Frankford Township-678 and 34 deaths
  • Franklin Borough-591 and 3 deaths
  • Fredon Township-342 and 5 deaths
  • Green Township-438 and 8 deaths
  • Hamburg Borough-423 and 6 deaths
  • Hampton Township-562 and 3 deaths
  • Hardyston Township-996 and 14 deaths
  • Hopatcong Borough-1,777 and 17 deaths
  • Lafayette Township-227 and 1 death
  • Montague Township-372 and 3 deaths
  • Newton-946 and 24 deaths 
  • Ogdensburg Borough-335 and 6 deaths
  • Sandyston Township-187 and 2 deaths
  • Sparta Township-2,213 and 19 deaths
  • Stanhope Borough-448 and 4 deaths
  • Stillwater Township-393 and 2 deaths
  • Sussex Borough-186 and 1 death
  • Vernon Township-2,371 and 23 deaths
  • Walpack Township-0 and 0 deaths
  • Wantage Township-1,141 and 10 deaths

*(Two reported positive cases have been re-assigned out of County)

According to health officials, of the 16,575 cases 15,718 cases have been classified as recovered.
