Sussex County reports 555 new COVID-19 cases; 2 additional deaths

SUSSEX COUNTY, NJ – Sussex County officials on Wednesday, January 5 are reporting 555 new COVID-19 cases and 2 additional deaths.

The total number of COVID-19 cases in Sussex County is at 27,776* and total deaths is at 379:

  • Andover Borough-107 and 0 deaths
  • Andover Township-1,465 and 132 deaths
  • Branchville Borough-125 and 0 deaths
  • Byram Township-1,614 and 10 deaths
  • Frankford Township-1,082 and 39 deaths
  • Franklin Borough-1,075 and 10 deaths
  • Fredon Township-559 and 5 deaths
  • Green Township-763 and 9 deaths
  • Hamburg Borough-666 and 8 deaths
  • Hampton Township-964 and 5 deaths
  • Hardyston Township-1,599 and 18 deaths
  • Hopatcong Borough-2,907 and 24 deaths
  • Lafayette Township-427 and 1 death
  • Montague Township-659 and 3 deaths
  • Newton-1,644 and 31 deaths 
  • Ogdensburg Borough-459 and 7 deaths
  • Sandyston Township-322 and 3 deaths
  • Sparta Township-3,637 and 23 deaths
  • Stanhope Borough-723 and 5 deaths
  • Stillwater Township-681 and 3 deaths
  • Sussex Borough-341 and 2 death
  • Vernon Township-3,983 and 28 deaths
  • Walpack Township-3 and 0 deaths
  • Wantage Township-1,971 and 13 deaths

According to health officials, of the 27,776 cases 20,619 cases have been classified as recovered.
