Sussex County reports 81 new COVID-19 cases; 1 additional death

SUSSEX COUNTY, NJ – Sussex County officials on Thursday, September 23 are reporting 81 new COVID-19 cases and 1 additional death.

The total number of COVID-19 cases in Sussex County is at 16,408* and total deaths is at 319:

  • Andover Borough-63 and 0 deaths
  • Andover Township-839 and 128 deaths
  • Branchville Borough-78 and 0 deaths
  • Byram Township-950 and 8 deaths
  • Frankford Township-660 and 34 deaths
  • Franklin Borough-577 and 3 deaths
  • Fredon Township-336 and 5 deaths
  • Green Township-438 and 8 deaths
  • Hamburg Borough-423 and 6 deaths
  • Hampton Township-559 and 3 deaths
  • Hardyston Township-993 and 14 deaths
  • Hopatcong Borough-1,769 and 16 deaths
  • Lafayette Township-222 and 1 death
  • Montague Township-364 and 3 deaths
  • Newton-924 and 24 deaths 
  • Ogdensburg Borough-325 and 6 deaths
  • Sandyston Township-186 and 1 death
  • Sparta Township-2,201 and 19 deaths
  • Stanhope Borough-447 and 4 deaths
  • Stillwater Township-389 and 2 deaths
  • Sussex Borough-181 and 1 death
  • Vernon Township-2,359 and 23 deaths
  • Walpack Township-0 and 0 deaths
  • Wantage Township-1,125 and 10 deaths

According to health officials, of the 16,408 cases 15,571 cases have been classified as recovered.
