Sussex County woman charged in theft of more than $3K worth of jewelry

FRANKLIN BOROUGH, NJ (Sussex County) – A Sussex County woman was arrested Monday after she allegedly stole more than $3,000 from a family member’s home, according to police.

On Oct. 8, Franklin police received a report of a theft. The complainant told police that a family member had taken jewelry, valued at over $3,000, police said.

Through a police investigation it was determined that Tess A. Walters, 19, of Franklin Borough allegedly took jewelry from the complainant’s residence on Nov. 7, 2018, police said.

Walters then allegedly sold the jewelry at a jewelry retail store in Rockaway, New Jersey without the consent and or permission of the complainant, police said.

Walters was charged with one count of theft and released pending a court appearance.
