Sussex County woman killed in crash on Garden State Parkway

TOMS RIVER TOWNSHIP, NJ (Ocean County) – A Branchville woman was killed in a single-vehicle crash Friday morning on the Garden State Parkway in Toms River Township, New Jersey State Police spokesperson Sergeant Philip Curry said.

It happened at 4:31 a.m. on the Garden State Parkway southbound at milepost 87.4, Curry said.

A preliminary police investigation revealed that a Ford E350, driven by 54-year-old Donna Davis, ran off the road to the right, struck the guardrail and overturned. Both occupants of the vehicle were ejected, Curry said.

Davis sustained fatal injures and her passenger sustained moderate injures, Curry said.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation, Curry said.
