Teenage boy killed in skid steer accident in Sussex County

WANTAGE TOWNSHIP, NJ (Sussex County) – A 16-year-old boy was killed following a skid steer accident in Wantage Township Friday evening, New Jersey State Police Sergeant Lawrence Peele said.

The incident occurred at around 5:12 p.m. on the property of 383 County Route 519, Peele said.

A preliminary investigation indicated that a 16-year-old male sustained fatal injuries as a result of an industrial accident involving a skid steer, Peele said.

There were no other injuries reported and the cause remains under investigation, Peele said.
