Thief breaks into Hunterdon County home, grabs fobs and attempts to steal car, police say

READINGTON TOWNSHIP, NJ (Hunterdon County) – A thief entered into a Readington Township home through an unlocked window early Wednesday morning, took key fobs and then attempted to steal a car, police said.

On Feb. 15, at around 3:45 a.m., police responded to a residence on Lance Road for intruders attempting to steal vehicles from the property, police said.

At least one of the suspects gained entry into the residence through an unlocked window and stole key fobs for the vehicles outside. The suspects were then confronted by the homeowner as they attempted to gain entry into a BMW but fled before police arrived, police said.

Police were unable to locate the suspects.
