Thousands turn out for Hackettstown’s Halloween Downtown event (PHOTOS)

HACKETTSTOWN, NJ (Warren County) – Thousands of costumed residents came out to the 8th annual Hackettstown Halloween Downtown event Saturday afternoon.

The event started with a parade down West Moore Street and conclude at the Main Street Gazebo where trick-or-treater were able to get candy from Mars Wrigley, toothbrushes from Atlantic Health System/Hackettstown Medical Center, and coupons from Wawa. The Hackettstown Fire Department, and Hackettstown First Aid and Rescue Squad had vehicles on display.

The trick-or-treaters then were able to visit the businesses along Main Street who were also handing out candy.

Here is a list of the Best Halloween Costume winners:

  • Infant to 3-years-old: Robert Post, 2 1/2 months old, of Allamuchy Township dressed as “Harry Potter

  • 4-years-old to 6-years-old: Aidan Davis, 6, of Hackettstown dressed as “Pizza”

  • 7-years-old to 10-years-old: Brennan Heinzelmann, 10, of Sussex dressed as “Cinnamon Toast Crunch”

The event was sponsored by the Hackettstown Police Department, Mars Wrigley, Atlantic Health System/Hackettstown Medical Center, Hackettstown Business Improvement District and Centenary University.

Jay Edwards
