Toxic chemical, drug charges for Budd Lake man

MOUNT OLIVE TOWNSHIP, NJ (Morris County) – A Budd Lake man is facing toxic chemical and drug charges after he was allegedly observed breathing fumes from a can near the Walmart in Mount Olive Township Sunday morning.

On June 14, at 9:54 a.m., officers responded to the International Trade Zone in the area of Walmart for a report of an intoxicated man outside on a bench, police said.

Upon the officers arrival, they observed a man matching the description on the bench breathing fumes from a can. The officers approached the man, who was later identified as Neil McWilliams, 58, and he showed obvious signs of impairment, police said.

McWilliams was arrested and charged with use of toxic chemicals, under the Influence of controlled dangerous substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was released to a sober friend pending a court appearance, police said.
