Tractor-trailer carrying fireworks catches fire on I-287 in Somerset County, state police say

BRIDGEWATER TOWNSHIP, NJ (Somerset County) – A tractor-trailer carrying fireworks caught fire Sunday night on Intrastate 287 in Somerset County, according to New Jersey State Police Trooper Brandi Slota.

The fire happened at 10:27 p.m. on Interstate 287 southbound at milepost 15.4 in Bridgewater Township, Slota said.

A preliminary police investigation revealed that a tractor-trailer was traveling southbound on Interstate 287 when the driver observed a dolly tire to be on fire, Slota said.

No injuries were reported on scene, Slota said.
