Tractor trailer takes down utility pole in Hope Twp.

HOPE TOWNSHIP, NJ (Warren County) – A tractor trailer took down a utility pole in Hope Township early Wednesday morning.

The crash happened at 4:38 a.m. on Hope Blairstown Road.

When first reposnders arrived of on scene, they determined the power lines were still energized. The driver of the tractor trailer remained in the vehicle until Jersey Central Power and Light arrived to shut the power off.

The driver was not injured.

The roadway between Heller Hill Road and Silver Lake Road will remain shut down for the remainder of the morning until JCP&L installs a new utility pole.

Assisting at the scene was Hope Volunteer Fire Company and Knowlton Rescue.
